Trump finally broke his silence on his porn star mistress scandal

Trump finally broke his silence on his porn star mistress scandal

President Trump has finally directly answered a question about the alleged affair between himself and adult film star Stormy Daniels (real name Stephanie Clifford). The scandal, which has been dogging him since it first broke, is one out of numerous accusations of infidelity that have been leveled so far at the lecherous old man.

Clifford claims that she and Trump had a sexual encounter behind Melania’s back shortly after the birth of his son Barron. Amongst other sordid details, Clifford claims that she spanked Trump with a rolled up copy of Forbes that depicted Trump’s face on the cover.

Until now, Trump has refused to comment on the affair. He’s even restrained himself from attacking Clifford on Twitter, a deeply uncharacteristic move that has led many to believe he fears she might respond by revealing proof of the affair.

Whatever the specific details of the tryst turn out to be, it has already been confirmed that Trump’s longtime friend and lawyer paid Clifford $130,000 in hush money right before the 2016 election. Cohen denies that it was because Trump had the affair, but doesn’t deny that he made the payment. The paradox has not gone overlooked by the media.

Today, aboard Air Force One, Trump was asked if he knew about the huge lump sum payment that was used to silence Clifford right before the election. The president responded “no.” When pushed why then Cohen would have made the payment, he directed further questions to his lawyer

“You’ll have to ask Michael Cohen. Michael’s my attorney and you’ll have to ask Michael,” Trump said.

Of course, it seems extremely unlikely if not downright possible that Michael Cohen would simply hand over such a large sum of money especially given the fact that Cohen claims to have paid Clifford out of his own pocket. The simplest explanation still rings true: Trump had the affair and then directed Cohen to cover it up.

Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg News reported the exchange via Twitter.
