Monica Lewinsky just hilariously trolled Marco Rubio over his pathetic beef with “a POLITICO intern”

Monica Lewinsky just hilariously trolled Marco Rubio over his pathetic beef with “a POLITICO intern”

Earlier this week, Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio made the curious decision to criticize Trump’s tax bill – that he voted for – for only helping the rich and not America’s working families, which everyone knows was exactly what the tax bill was designed to do was designed to do in the first place.

After what we can assume were a few angry phone calls from his party leaders, the notoriously spineless and perpetually flip-flopping Rubio quickly attempted to walk back the criticism of his party’s sole legislative accomplishment in the past two years.

Politico took him to task for his contemptible refusal to stand by anything that he ever says, highlighting his hypocrisy in an article devoted to the whole affair.

A salty Rubio retweeted the article providing a critique of its content, but only after snarkily dismissing it as the opinions of an “intern at Politico” – and one of the most famous interns-turned-anti-bullying advocates, Monica Lewinski, was having none of it:

“Blaming the intern is so 1990’s,” she quipped, retweeting Rubio’s original post, as seen below:

Lewinsky became a household name in the mid-90’s when then-president Bill Clinton admitted to an “inappropriate relationship” with the young intern.

As is the case with many women afflicted by what has now blossomed into the #MeToo movement, Lewinsky spent the better part of the late-90’s dodging tabloid headlines and gossip columns.

She became one of the first and greatest victims of cyberbullying, her name turned into a national punchline and her character dragged through the dirt by a nation eager to slut-shame a young woman who had been taken advantage of by a rich and powerful man.

As for Rubio, he did sit down with The Economisthaving offered this scathing review of Trump’s only legislative accomplishment: his tax bill.

“In fact they bought back shares, a few gave out bonuses; there’s no evidence whatsoever that the money’s been massively poured back into the American worker.”

On Wednesday, Rubio pivoted so hard he nearly disrupted Earth’s rotation, releasing this op-ed with a singing endorsement of the tax bill titled “Two Cheers for Corporate Tax Cuts.”

For pointing out his hypocrisy, Politico intern Quint Forgey got thrown under the bus so that Rubio could cover his own lies.

Kudos to Lewinsky for stepping in to troll Rubio over his absurd attempt to deflect from this absurd scandal of his own making.
