How Donald Trump has managed to last as long as he has with no visible support from anyone but the panel and guests on Fox and Friends and a few drooling Neo-confederates is astonishing. Even members of his own party regularly speak out against his policies, though the best they can do to retaliate is to quit.
Monday brings about a new week and also a new, welcome antagonist to the Trump administration.
Major General Ret. Paul Eaton served his country for years, but gained recognition during the Bush era from 2003-2004 his command of operations to train Iraqi troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom while simultaneously criticizing then-President Bush for failing to listen to his military advisers before rushing into Iraq.
Since his retirement, Major General Ret. Eaton has worked on several progressive causes, most notably popping in from time to time to thrash Donald Trump for his latest national embarrassment.
In an early morning tweet, the incredibly distinguished retiree finally let his bottled up frustration over Trump’s treatment of immigrant children burst.
“Your policy to separate children from parents seeking asylum at our border is jarringly immoral and harkens back to the dark days of WWII in Germany and our own Japanese internment policy,” begins his scathing dissent, before going for the jugular with, “And your incompetence in execution stunning.”
@realDonaldTrump – your policy to separate children from parents seeking asylum at our border is jarringly immoral and harkens back to the dark days of WWII in Germany and our own Japanese internment policy. And your incompetence in execution stunning. Stop now!@SpeakerRyan act!

His closing line begs a simple request of one of two people in Washington with the power (for now, at least) to do something, imploring of Spinless Speaker Ryan, ” Stop now!@SpeakerRyan[sic] act!”
Major General Ret. Eaton joins the chorus of Americans calling for an immediate end to this horrendous policy – but Speaker Ryan has yet to comment, to Eaton or anyone else.
Yesterday was Father’s Day, a day that should remind everyone the importance of family, no matter the structure. Instead, Republicans are holding with a vice-grip to nationalism, false-patriotism, and racism.
This must end come November.
