Legendary civil rights champion Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) has drawn a line in the sand over Trump’s immigration policies that have separated thousands of children from their families.

The iconic lawmaker marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a young man when he was the president of the highly influential Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee in the 1960s.

Now 78 years-old and two lifetimes’ worth of social progress achieved, Rep. Lewis is still marching.  He joined nation-wide “Keep Families Together”demonstrations organized to protest the president’s heinous “zero tolerance” policy at the border.

“I’ve been talking for some time about getting in trouble,” he told the screaming crowd in Atlanta, Georgia.  “It’s time for some of us to get in some good trouble, necessary trouble!”

“In the final analysis,” he continued, “we may have to turn American upside down to turn it right-side up. But whatever we, do it in an orderly, peaceful, non-violent fashion.”

“As Dr. King said on so many occasions, ‘never, ever, ever hate, for hate is too heavy a burden for man.'” he continued. “The way of love is a much better way.”

“We’re gonna win this victory.  The world is crying with us. They think we’re losing our way.  But we’re going to show the world that we’re better than what’s been going on in America.”
