Trump just bragged about writing “many books.” His ghostwriter’s response is going viral

This afternoon, in a tweet as vain as it was misguided, Trump took to Twitter to brag about his “ability to write.”

Notwithstanding the fact that the president even managed a misspelling in the very tweet defending his writing prowess, he also claimed to have “written many best selling books.”

Tim O’Brien, author of Trump biography “Trump Nation,” commented not only on the fact that the tweet – even with the misspelling – seemed still too highbrow for the president, but also that he didn’t even write his own books about which he bragged.

Between just O’Brien and “Art of the Deal” ghostwriter Tony Schwartz, who has been outspoken in his criticism of Trump, the fact that the president has relied on ghostwriters is all but common knowledge at this point.

“And I think the overwhelming weight of evidence suggests that he’s just crazy, and not crazy, casual crazy. I’m talking about crazy—I’m not a psychiatrist, so I actually can get away with saying this—but crazy as a personality disorder,” Schwartz said of Trump during an interview with Anderson Cooper.

If Trump can’t manage 280 characters without humiliating himself, the odds that he wrote a book on his own seem about as high as the likelihood that he won the 2016 election without any help from Russia. I wouldn’t take either bet.
