2018’s answer to Joe Paterno, Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, was exposed by NBC News on Tuesday after a litany of former Ohio State University athletes came forward alleging that Jordan was aware that the wrestling team’s doctor was sexually abusing student-athletes and failed to stop the abuse – or do anything at all for that matter.
Trump had stayed somewhat silent on the matter in the lead-up to the July Fourth holiday, but as of Thursday, July fifth, he came forward with his deplorable response:
“I don’t believe them at all. I believe him. Jim Jordan is one of the most outstanding people I’ve met since I’ve been in Washington. I believe him 100 percent. No question in my mind.”
Why he chose to bring attention to his ever-deteriorating mind is beyond comprehension, but his opinion is clear: once again, Trump is siding with the rapist and not the victims.
Jordan continued to deny the allegations to Politico on Wednesday, saying he never knew of any abuse and that if he did, “I would have done something about it.”
“And look, if there are people who are abused, then that’s terrible and we want justice to happen,” he added.
Three former wrestlers told NBC News that the abuse was an open secret, and that Jordan would have known about the alleged behavior. Then, quite literally as the news of Trump’s commentary unfolded, a fourth former wrestler bravely came forward to contradict Jordan and prove that Trump is nothing but a pandering philanderer himself.

“What happened drove me out of the sport. So I was surprised to hear Jim say that he knew nothing about it,” said the former wrestler, John Dailey. “Jimmy’s a good guy. But to say that he had no knowledge of it, I would say that’s kind of hurtful.”
Calling Jordan “a good guy” seems to be a bit of a stretch, especially given the cover-up he orchestrated that is the basis of this entire discussion.
Richard Strauss, the team’s doctor who committed suicide in 2005, would allegedly shower with the athletes and inappropriately touch them during appointments. The former athletes reportedly felt empowered by the outcome of the similar case surrounding former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nasser who allegedly touched both male and female athletes inappropriately during the course of their training.
With any luck, justice will be served to these adults who had their childhood and innocence ripped from them by a sadistic doctor and the congressman who concealed his heinous actions and Jim Jordan can join Jerry Sandusky in jail.
Then one day, both men can join Joe Paterno and Richard Strauss in hell where their ilk belong.
