Trump just called for his attorney general to arrest Omarosa

Trump just called for his attorney general to arrest Omarosa

It would appear that President Trump is quite beside himself with the embarrassing revelations coming out of his former confidante and White House staffer Omarosa Manigault’s explosive tell-all book, and his trademark drive for vengeance is pushing him deeper into authoritarianism.

A new report from Vanity Fair reveals that the President has demanded that Attorney General Jeff Sessions arrest Omarosa for the things she said in her book, even though she hasn’t broken any laws.

“In recent days, Trump has called Manigault Newman “crazed,” a “lowlife,” and a “dog” on Twitter. His campaign filed an arbitration suit against her seeking “millions.” And Trump told advisers that he wants Attorney General Jeff Sessions to have Manigault Newman arrested, according to one Republican briefed on the conversations. (It’s unclear what law Trump believes she broke.)”

Thankfully, Sessions certainly will not comply with that ridiculous order, but it goes to show just how furious the president is over her betrayal — which he absolutely should have seen coming — and how he’s once again dragging himself into what one staffer called his “death spiral” of bad publicity, followed by destructive, reckless decisions that only fan the flames of public disapproval and drag him further into the muck.

The Trump team efforts to change the narrative and halt the talk of any “n-word tapes” by stripping the security clearance away from former CIA chief John Brennan backfired immediately. The move only served to further infuriate the public and the media, who rightly pointed out that the President was trying to bully a prominent critic into silence.

Omarosa’s upcoming book alleges that there are recordings of President Trump using racial slurs, that his wife Melania is eager to divorce him, that he called his own son a “retard”, and that he “covets” his daughter Ivanka, among a host of other wild allegations.

While it’s refreshing to see that Omarosa is still free and that the rule of law still stands in the United States, it’s deeply disturbing to hear that the president even proposed the idea at all — and one shudders to think at what he might do when the Mueller investigation into his alleged Russian treason comes to serve justice.
