Trump just tried to throw Obama under the bus on Twitter and humiliated himself instead

As part of his endless and desperate efforts to sell himself to the American people by any means necessary, Trump took to Twitter today with a tepid attempt at rewriting history.

The president not only fabricated the notion that he is polling higher than his predecessor, Barack Obama, at this point in his presidency, but that Republicans are well-positioned as we head toward midterms.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Per FiveThirtyEight, Trump’s approval ratings are as follows:

Approve: 41.4%
Disapprove: 52.8%
Net: -11.4

Meanwhile, Obama’s approval ratings on August 4, 2010, per RealClearPolitics were:

Approve: 44.9%
Disapprove: 50.1%
Net: -5.2

Pushing back against the mistaken concept that Republicans are “winning on every front,” it should be noted that Democrats have flipped 46 seats since Trump’s election. The GOP, meanwhile, has flipped only seven.

Quite literally nothing points to a “Red Wave.”

Of course, Trump has never had much of an affinity for facts. Yet even the president’s warped reality won’t change the outcome of what promises to be a very lopsided November election cycle for Democrats.
